Dear Students,

I want to introduce you to The Mindfulness Meditation Program. It began last year as a program for individuals and this year I am offering it in a small group format that allows students to learn from one another and take advantage of a more affordable option. To help people adopt a meditation practice, or deepen their existing one, I carved out the basics in terms of the theory that informs a mindfulness meditation practice; as well as the physical skills needed to sit still for longer periods of time. The results were far better than I had hoped. All of the graduates from this program report having developed a regular meditation practice that works for them. At the end of this description, I am including a couple of the testimonials last year’s students wrote upon completing the program. You can hear about their experience in their own words. 

This program will offer you the following benefits:

  1. You will learn not only how to meditate, but how to sustain your meditation practice over time.
  2. You will work with me live online once a week for ten weeks. (All sessions will be recorded).
  3. You will receive weekly videos on the practice of meditation as well as videos of Yoga classes taught by me that teach you the same skills that you are learning in meditation, in a vinyasa class context.
  4. We will meet six weeks before the summer break and then four weeks afterward setting the stage for a relaxing summer and an engaged fall.

Course Description

This program offers you a chance to both develop a meditation practice while learning the Buddhist teachings that are the underpinning of this profound practice. Over the course of 12 weeks, you will work one-on-one with me in weekly online sessions. Each stage of this process combines the study of the core teachings with the practices that allow us to experience them.

These stages are as follows:

Module One:
The Four Noble Truths (The basics and the science)

Module Two:
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (How to build a practice)

Module Three:
The Eight-Fold Path (Bringing Mindfulness into everyday life)

Module Four:
Learning to Teach Others Meditation

The foundational 8-week course includes weekly one-on-one sessions, weekly Asana and Meditation classes, and one daylong silent retreat (facilitated and supported by Rolf Gates but held in your home). All materials and texts are included in the cost of the program.

PAYMENTS + REFUNDS TERMS and CONDITIONS

I agree that upon acceptance to this study course I will be charged a $250 non-refundable deposit. I understand and agree that cancellations must be made within 30 days of acceptance (via email) to the program. If I cancel for any reason within 30 days I will receive your tuition paid to date (less the $250 non-refundable deposit) upon receipt of all returned course materials to the Gates Yoga office. I understand and agree that after 30 days from my acceptance, if I cancel my enrollment or fail to complete the program for any reason other than cancellation of the program by Gates Yoga Enterprises, Inc, I will not be entitled to any refund, and will be obligated to pay any remainder of the enrollment fee designated above. In some cases, participants may request credit toward another program, which may be granted by Gates Yoga Enterprises, Inc. in its sole discretion. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to any law that directs the application of the law of another jurisdiction.
